Just make sure that you buy the exact size that will fit inside your aquarium as these pieces can take up a large amount of space. Apart from that you will need to plan and design well to place it in the right way in the aquarium to give it a natural appearance. You must not only think about the placement of it so that it looks beautiful but also take care that it does not restrict the movement of the fishes. 

Clean And Place Well

You must place the Driftwood for Sale in such a way so that you can alter the position easily as and when you wish to do so. While creating the unique natural habitat for the fishes make sure that looks great and serves the needs as well. 



You must make sure that the driftwood is clean and healthy to be placed inside. It is therefore advised that you buy these from reliable sources only. Good driftwood will be free from tannin, moss and other contaminants that will reduce the pH value of the water making it unhealthy for the fishes to live long.  

The Actual Process


After cleaning and brushing the Aquarium Driftwood, soak it in water for a couple of weeks. It will enable it to saturate the water completely so that it remains submerged in your aquarium. This will also help it lose the excess tannins if there is any and thereby eliminate the chances of the water getting discolored. You may also boil the driftwood to get rid of the algae before placing it inside the aquarium.

Few Recommended Wood Types For Aquariums Apart From Manzanita Driftwood

The most common and popular choice of driftwood for aquarium lovers all over the world is the Manzanita variety due to the classy look that these branchy driftwood has. This type of driftwood is also very resilient to wear as compared to other varieties. However, you can use other varieties a well like Rhododendron, Mesquite, Azalea and Corkscrew Willow that are also equally popular. All these driftwood will offer a unique and beautiful layout to your aquarium. Therefore, you should take a look at other varieties as well not knowing that the best piece of driftwood may be still lying unsold. 

Try Out Colophospermum Mopane:

You can try out the Mopani or Colophospermum variety apart from the most common Manzanita Driftwood for your aquarium. This is a thick and solid variety of driftwood known for its unique and unusual branching. These are best suited for large aquariums and are useful to reduce pH level and soften the water.
